Digital and Innovation Group update for April
- Integrated Consumer Experience (ICE) has launched: This month we launched the first iteration of the Integrated Consumer Experience (ICE) on the Android version of the Providence Health Connect App. This was a monumental effort for Digital & Innovation. The primary goal of ICE is to bring all of PSJH’s Express Care services (retail scheduling, virtual visits, and home visits) into a single application without having to download another app.
- Simplifying Care Pilot Program: We will be launching pilots at 3 sites by the first week of May, and 2 more sites later in May to simplify the care experience for non-emergency surgery patients before and after surgery through digital pathways delivered on mobile and web, educational content, and patient engagement tools.
- Providence Centralia & Project REACH: This month we launched Project REACH, a three-month pilot aimed at reducing low-acuity ED visits at the Centralia Emergency Department. Virtual Visits will be available to low-acuity patients adjacent to the ED, aimed at providing patients with greater access and a better experience.
- Our digital collaboration with Apple: Earlier this month, Apple announced that PSJH and other several other health systems will be included in its Apple Health app. The app will help patients keep track of all the medical information they receive from their doctors on their iPhones. Swedish will be included in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
- Providence Health Plan: The digital team has developed a new process, hand-in-hand with the PHP product and marketing teams, to review and prioritize requests for changes to online tools and services or for new functionality. If you have a request in the future, using this form will insure it gets reviewed in a timely manner (we are alerted when new requests are submitted and meet every 2 weeks to discuss them).
Challenges on our Minds
- Our Chief Digital Strategy Officer, Sara Vaezy did a Q&A with MedCity to talk about why the industry is so behind in terms of digitization, and how our team at Providence is charged with innovating with the patient in mind: https://medcitynews.com/2018/03/providence-st-joseph-health-chief-digital-strategy-officer-ai-still-living-land-theoretical/?rf=1
