Chatter instant messenger on staffhub will sunset March 30

If you use Chatter to instant message your coworkers on staffhub or on Chatter Desktop, as of March 30, Chatter instant messenger will no longer be supported by Salesforce, the platform our intranet is built on. Chatter groups and posting comments on content you read will remain in place.

A: Chatter Instant Messenger on the website version of staffhub and on Chatter Desktop are sunsetting on March 30. This feature allowed you to instant message your coworkers. Below are the examples of what we are referring to.     

Q: What is staying?

Chatter Groups will remain. This include The Huddle at your ministry, groups you follow like Choose Well, project groups, and your personal feed where you share and comment on news and content like on social media. Here is an example (follow red arrow):

Q: Is there a recommended instant messenger we can use to communicate with each other?
A: We do have a system standard, Microsoft Skype of Business online. If you currently have an O365 license, this will be your system to use. If not, please contact the AskIT Service Desk at askit@stjoe.org or 714-937-7460 to request Skype for Business. Your request will be prioritized according to justification, business need, and funding.
