Each month we sele
ct one of our core Values and match it with STAR card recipients at SJE and RMH whose write-ups best demonstrate that Value. All STAR cards are eligible. This month our focus is on our Value of Justice, which calls us to “act with Justice, love with kindness, and walk humbly with your God. –Micah 6:8 We stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable, working to remove causes of oppression and promoting justice for all. We foster a culture that promotes unity and reconciliation. We strive to care wisely for our people, our resources and our earth.”

Eight STAR cards from grateful community members shared gratitude to Star for her amazing support of new mothers in our community and are best summed up with these words: “Star spoke to me in a way that made me feel heard and supported. Most importantly, outside of the hospital, her support group has been invaluable to me as a new mom. She has become more than a lactation consultant—she is now a friend.”

This STAR card from a grateful patient was selected for Dutch. It reads, “Dutch was so kind to me. He was respectful, explained everything and what to expect. He stopped in to make sure I had everything I needed. I was really anxious and in pain. I’m truly grateful for his patience and excellent care. (Dutch 3rd from left)
