Safe Patient Handling training is in full swing

As a reminder, Safe Patient Handling training is currently in full swing. As part of the 2006 Washington state law (RCW 70.41.400), healthcare staff are required to attend once a year training regarding safe patient handling techniques and equipment.

To see the current list of classes being offered, log onto Health Stream, search *shs:safe patient handling* and sign up for a class near you.

On February 27, Jeanne Ryan, Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomics Program Manager, provided safe patient handling training at Mill Creek for caregivers annual requirement. Thanks to the communications from Mill Creek leadership, this campus was able to get 60% of its staff through the training!

Thank you to all who came out and participated in these classes and for demonstrating that safe patient handling is an important part of your day to day operations.
