Construction Update – Important Dates

Construction continues on the new ICU and MSU medical units toward the target opening this fall. Included in the upcoming work are: pneumatic tube system shut down, phases 4 and 5 of re-routing to access the south end patient units, and the detailed logistics leading up to move-in day.

July 31

As phase 3 of re-routing construction ends on July 30, phases 4 and 5 will start simultaneously.  On Tuesday, July 31, phases 4 and 5 of construction around the Imaging and Emergency Departments will begin. These phases are shown on the attached map and are the final phases of construction to create evening access to the patient units on both Cascade South and Olympic South, while also keeping non-public areas secure. The final phases will block the opening from the imaging area into the emergency department.  Likewise, the back corridor leading to surgery will also be blocked.

Please review the diagram that shows alternate paths, including utilizing the second floor and the sky bridge to access surgery.
