Susan Huang, M.D., named chief executive for Providence Clinical Network

I am thrilled to announce Susan Huang, M.D., chief medical officer for the South Division, and chief executive officer of California’s payor-provider Providence Health Network, will assume the role of chief executive for the Providence Clinical Network.

After an extensive national search process, the executive search committee unanimously selected Dr. Huang to lead the PCN and support Providence as we continue our journey to a more fully integrated care delivery system, scaling innovation and best practices to best serve our communities, clinicians, and caregivers.

Dr. Huang is a health care innovator with robust experience in physician leadership, patient advocacy, value-based care, health plan operations, strategic growth, and operations. Her expertise in helping organizations become the destination of choice for patients, clinicians and caregivers, as well as her passion for physician engagement and collaboration, make her a perfect fit for the PCN. Under Dr. Huang’s leadership, I have no doubt the PCN will continue to excel in setting high standards and exploring new avenues for growth and excellence that are vital to our future.

Dr. Huang will serve as a dyad partner to COO Erik Wexler and report to me. With a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, they will ensure alignment across our family of organizations in the best interest of Providence and the health of our communities.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Prasanna Mohanty, PCN chief operating officer. During the search process, we were fortunate to have Prasanna serve in the interim capacity as chief executive. He stepped into this role with dedication, ensuring the smooth operation of the PCN and providing valuable contributions during this transitional period.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Huang on her new role. And thank you for all you and your teams do to support our patients and each other.

Rod Hochman, M.D.
President and CEO
